All casino games have rules of etiquette because when a game is going on you want to respectful to other people so here are some etiquette tips to follow. The first rule of etiquette is Not to show your cards while round is going on, that can be extremely dumb to do in poker. The only time it is appropriate in the game of Texas Hold Em to show your cards is in the showdown. In some versions of the game it is not against the rules but it is considered to be a huge breach of etiquette. If you were not folding and you flashed your cards then you hand will be considered dead. The reason why this is frowned upon is because by showing your cards, it may be another player’s advantage to see what you have.
If you folded your card that would have been a good hand on the flop, do not react. Don’t make it look like you would have had a good hand. The best way to handle any type of emotion at the table is simply not to have any. You may be in turn by reacting it can ruin the pot by possibly giving a player who pays attention an advantage.
Do not criticize another player and how they are playing the game. If you want to observe a player to see if they have a good hand or not then do it quietly. Being verbally abusive is not tolerated and you may be asked to leave the game. Try to keep any sarcasm in check. Another etiquette tip to follow is when you get a bad card or the dealer lays down the community cards that you can’t use which in turn makes you fold, don’t under any circumstances blame the dealer. She deals the cards; she did not purposely plan for you to have a bad hand.
If you have folded it is ok to sit at the table to wait for another hand but do not talk about the hand because you are not in it. Giving advice or pointers is against the rules. Make sure that you are paying attention to your hand; you can quietly observe the other players but do not make any comments at all.
Do not splash the pot, the reason being is that players are not supposed is because you could maybe toss in some chips. Make sure your stacks of chips are neatly staked in front of you as you play. A few more tips are post your blinds when you are supposed now, try not be reminded. Do not move seat too much, it is distracting and a little suspicious.
Make sure you keep the game clean, do not curse or be loud or rude to other players. Make sure and very important and that is Tip the Dealer. Even the smallest of pots should allow the dealer a tip. They live on tips they have a small base salary, so help them out. Enjoy the game and have fun. Good Luck!
